It looks like Kirkus Reviews, one of the standard reviewing sources used in library book selection, will be closing its doors at the end of the year. (via New York Times)
YASLA announced the shortlist for its new Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults award, which honors the best nonfiction books written for young adults between Nov. 1, 2008 and Oct. 31, 2009. The winner will be announced at the Youth Media Awards on Monday, January 18.

YALSA Blog’s Dollars and Sense series has been fantastic so far, but I particularly enjoyed Karen Perry’s Displays on a Dime.
